Biography —

Yumiko is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Health Psychology, working under the supervision of Dr. Laura Martin in the MIND Lab at the Hoglund Brain Imaging Center. For her clinical training, she has done advanced practica at KUMC neuropsychology clinic, oncopsychology, and PEMI. She is currently completing her last advanced practicum at Children's Mercy.

Yumiko's research interests include investigating both modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors contributing to Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, with the ultimate goal of advancing precision medicine in the field of aging. Presently, her research focuses on brain imaging data and lifestyle behaviors in preclinical Alzheimer's disease. Beyond her primary focus, Yumiko is also interested in dissemination and implementation research, bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and practical applications to improve the quality of care of older populations.
