Biography

Marsha J. McCartney, Ph.D. is an Associate Teaching Professor and Director of Curriculum and Teaching Development in the Department of Psychology at the University of Kansas. In this dual role, she teaches undergraduate and graduate psychology courses and leads initiatives to strengthen teaching across the department. Drawing on over a decade of experience in higher education, she supports curriculum design, fosters innovative teaching practices, and provides guidance to faculty and graduate instructors.

Dr. McCartney’s academic background includes a Ph.D. and M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Missouri and a B.A. in English from Fort Hays State University. Her professional expertise spans educational psychology, student development, and faculty mentoring, with a consistent focus on creating engaging, inclusive, and research-informed learning environments.
