Nathan is a first year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. He earned his B.S. in Psychological Science from Ball State University and his M.P.S. in Clinical Psychological Sciences from the University of Maryland. Before beginning doctoral training, Nathan worked at the NIMH researching the interplay of genetics, neurobiology, and cognition in schizophrenia, typically developing children, and Williams Syndrome.

Their research interests focus on severe mental illness (SMI) - particularly schizophrenia spectrum disorders. They are especially interested in understanding risk factors for SMI and tailoring interventions for these individuals. Nathan currently works under the mentorship of Dr. Melisa Rempfer, contributing to projects examining psychotic-like experiences in young adults.

Clinically, Nathan is committed to providing evidence-based care, with an eye towards mindfulness-based interventions for individuals more at risk for suicide. His long-term goal is to integrate research and clinical practice before influencing policy change to make healthcare more accessible.
