Biography —
I am broadly interested in studying existential psychology, particularly how and when awareness of difficult truths about life, such as mortality, finitude, and the inevitability of adversity, may bring out the best in people. I’m especially drawn to exploring the psychological qualities involved in this process, including gratitude, psychological flexibility, persistence, regret, and mixed emotions. Another area of my interest is how national and cultural identities may function as psychological buffers against existential threats. Bridging research and practice, I also draw on my background as an ICF-credentialed Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a crisis management consultant for businesses.
